We are Kent and Jennifer Lundy! Here is a little bit of information about the two of us:
About Kent:
I grew up in Chambersburg, PA with my parents and my brother, Paul, who is three years older than I. My parents are both committed Christians, and I learned the truth of Jesus' love for me at an early age. When I was still young, I accepted Jesus as my Savior, and I enjoyed growing up in a home where my parents helped me grow in my faith. After graduating from Cumberland Valley Christian School (where my parents both have taught for over thirty years), I attended Pensacola Christian College to study education. It was during my senior year there that I met Jen. After I graduated, I returned to Cumberland Valley Christian School as a math teacher. Jen and I kept in touch despite the distance, but it wasn't until about four years later that we started dating (for those of you who have never experienced it, long-distance dating is just as difficult as you've been told!). We got married about a year later, and I joined Jen in Sumter, SC to teach at Sumter Christian School. We enjoy getting to teach together. We are both very excited to see our family grow.
About Jennifer:
I grew up in a military family and my family settled in Lake Wales, FL when I was entering into the Fourth grade. A good friend of mine invited me to church when I was in the 9th grade and the Lord began to show me my need for His love and salvation. I trusted the Lord as my Savior in 2001 and gave my life to Him to follow His will. After high school I attended a year of Bible college at Word of Life Bible Institute and later transferred to Pensacola Christian College. It was there that I met Kent. Kent and I met during his senior year and our friendship began to develop. We continued that friendship for almost 4 years after he graduated and after 4 years of patiently waiting we started dating. We got married in June of 2011 and bought our first home in Sumter, SC where we still live and teach the middle school grades at Sumter Christian School. We can't wait to start our family together and want to have as many children as the Lord will bless us with.
Why adopt?:
We have always known that we were going to adopt. When Jennifer was a teenager, she had a lot of medical tests done and it was found that she had been born with some physical abnormalities. In the process of fixing those things, she had several surgeries and her doctors discovered that she would never be able to have children. Jennifer prayed that God would bless her with a husband that would understand and want to adopt children eventually also. Our prayer now is that He will continue to bless us with the family He would have for us.
Update on our family:
We have recently moved from Sumter, SC to Cleburne, TX where Kent has joined the staff as Youth Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church. Jennifer gets to be a Stay-at-home Mom and take care of Addison.
